This is stressing me out. I cannot get a single good picture of them together anymore. They walk/run right off, in opposite directions. Or if I happen to get them together, one is making an "ugly" face, blinking, sticking a finger in an ear/nose, etc.
We tried going for professional pictures Wednesday and today (I won free sessions) and those were a fail, too. Sophia wouldn't sit or stand still for even 0.0005 seconds.
Ugh. I am so upset. The last time I got them together and smiling was my sig pic (professional birthday photos taken in January)!
At what age does this get better/easier? Am I destined for no "together" pics for a long time?
Re: pictures of them together = FAIL
::tries not to laugh::
We were at that point a year ago.
Now whenever Riley sees my camera come out she says, "Oooh, sit next to Bubba and get candy! Bubba come here! Cheeeeeeeeese! Ok candy Mama!"
Can you tell what I use to get them to sit/stand next to each other for pictures?
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
Ugh. I hear you and feel your pain. I can't tell you how many pics I have of one with a smile ear to ear and the other looking the other way, looking pissed, or trying to get up while I'm taking the pic.
I try (as does the photographer) to make them laugh and quickly snap a pic or find a quick distractor (heck, at the last photo shoot we found ourselves blowing bubbles, which always makes DDs giggle). I always pray for at least 1 photo where they both are smiling!!
GL! Hope you get some good pics on Wed!
Its hard! I have some tricks that I use during sessions, but its a hard age for sure. B&B are currently over photos, I think they have photographer's child syndrome! Normally it gets better around age 3 and then they go through the "silly faces in every pic" stage around 4. I had my mini sessions today, and there was an eight year old. I almost didnt know what to do he was so easy and followed every direction!
Oh man, it's so hard. I always get a great smile from one and a pouty face from the other, and then it switches the next pic! I liken it to getting two spastic squirrels to sit still around acorns.
My dh is my secret weapon. He gets behind me and jabbers very excitedly to them, laughs, etc. It is the only way I can get good pics of the two of them, and even then it is difficult, because I will lose my light, or one will be out of focus.
And, I must add, I adore your siggy pic.
I was actually about to email you and see what you thought, because i want to do our next sessions with you. But man, if they won't sit still, then it all seems like a waste. But since you have twins, I am guessing you are better at it then most!

After reading this post last night, I thought of the last pics we had taken. I just went to Picture People in the mall (not sure if they have that out in CA).
Of course, one DD was all smiles and the other was all over the place. The guy actually cropped out 2 different pics and so made it to where there was a good pose of both girls in one shot! You'd have no clue knowing it was a blended pic (just had a simple backdrop) and it actually ended up being one of our favorites.
They are really inexpensive, too. And you don't have to buy their pics if you don't like any of them (no sitting fees either).
Thanks!
Yesterday the photog mentioned that she *might* be able to do that with two pics if the angle is right. We'll see. I don't think we got anything on Wednesday when we took pics. Oh well!

This happens to us!
At Sears at Christmastime, the guy made a montage of the 2 of them together so I actually have 1 pic of the 2 of them! Otherwise, I have all separates.
