who to call?

I found a mole on my back tonight that is pretty painful. Not sure if it's been there or not, I don't remember it, it even hurt in the shower with the water hitting it. . Do I go to my reg. doc and get a referral to a dermatologist? or go straight to a derm? thanks.

    Is there a helpline you can call for your insurance?

    Our insurance requires a referral to see a specialist, but our Dr. would do it over the phone for an issue like that.

    If you don't need a referral for insurance purposes you could go straight to a dermatologist.  Otherwise your General Practioner can also look at it.

    Unless you need a referral for insurance reasons, i would call the derm office directly.
