Baby Names

Need some help...

Having a hard time with names. We are having a girl, and so far we like Aubrey Makenna Young. We are not set on this name but are entertaining it. Can you suggest some names. I've been looking all over the web and in books and I keep seeing the same names over and over again like, Abigail, Emily, Sophia, Olivia, Emma and so forth. These are NMS. I guess I like "trendy" names but not commonly used ones as in Riley, Kylee, Hailey, etc. Any suggestions are welcomed! TIA

Re: Need some help...

  • McNames are as trendy and "common" as you can get. I'd drop McKenna/Makenna and use a different mn. Aubrey is nice. I prefer Audrey, but Aubrey is nice.

  • Where are you looking on the web? Be careful which name sites you are looking at, because a lot (MOST) of them have false information and made up names. They bend the truth of the name meanings to make names seem more appealing.

Whenever you find a name you like, check www.BehindTheName.com to see if it's legitimate and to learn more about it. BTN is one of the most reliable sources for names.

You might even try just perusing their database. Just pick a concentration, like "English Names" or "Italian Names" or whichever you have ancestors from, or whichever you seem to like best.
