I think it's fine.  We have an L last name too and some L first names work with it and some don't.

I was L.L. with my maiden name. My dad is L.L., too. I never thought twice about it.

My name is Monique M---. I always thought it was pretty neat that my first & last name started w/the same letter! lol. I'd be more cautious of names that rhyme than alliteration.

Now that I'm married I am an R. R. R. and don't mind it one bit.  I think it absolutely depends on the names in question, but it can totally work.
