The IUI went fine. DH's numbers were good and it was over quickly. AFTER the procedure, my RE went over my CD3 and 10 blood work results. Basically, I suck. My FSH is extremely high and he thinks I don't have much chance getting pregnant without IVF, and even with IVF the chance is small. There were some other numbers and results he was throwing around- but my head was spinning and I just wanted to get out of there so fast that I didn't ask enough questions. So nice of him to tell me this after the IUI, so I feel like we did it for nothing. I should have just flushed my money down the toilet instead.

ETA: Low AMH. That was the other problem.

ETA: I want to throat punch your doctor for reviewing all of the results with you after the IUI. That's just so wrong of him.

I'm so sorry, M.  This sucks and I'm kind of pissed your doctor didn't give you this news sooner, so you could've made an informed decision.  I hope he's wrong.  Hugs.

I'm so sorry.  I would definitely call your dr back, when your ready to, and 1) Get more answers, and 2) complain that he didn't look over your blood work so you could make an informed decision.  It's his job to make sure he knows these things as do you.

Hopefully this is the only thing you'll need and in a couple weeks you'll be staring at 2 lines on an EPT. But if you do need to move on to IVF, low AMH isn't a killer. There are protocols that work on us. Mine was 0.44 at last check, and even *I* made some decent looking eggs.

But yeah, that stinks. :-(

Im sorry- and given the fact that you had what 2 weeks between your CD3 b/w and your IUI with how many of those days did you go in for ultrasounds etc, they could have told you some other time- as in before you started shooting yourself up- I'm really sorry-

*hugs*  And why the fvck didn't he look over the bloodwork BEFORE the IUI?  It's his damn job to look over the test results before recommending a procedure.  I'd be finding a new RE. Stat. He needs to understand that this is your money, and it doesn't grow on trees. FX that the IUI worked.

I really, really hope you get to prove that doctor wrong by having a wonderful, successful IUI. But I agree--he completely sucks for not helping you make INFORMED medical decisions about your treatment. Boo to him.
