Germs

My nephews having been puking all week, in fact everyone in their house (5 people) was sick as of Tuesday.  SIL says they are all fine as of today. They are in a play this weekend that we bought tickets for a while ago.  I want to go to the show to support them, no big deal.

But we are invited to their house afterwards and they are planning on having food and entertaining.  I really don't want to go, I don't want my 6 week old getting sick or really any of us getting sick.  I'm back and work and paranoid as it is that I'll get the kids sick.

Would you go to their house?  Are all of the germs dead?  Nephews are young and not great about washing their hands and they will want to touch the baby...

If you wouldn't go, would you just be honest or would you come up with an excuse?

TIA!

Re: Germs

  • personally, i would probably wear him and that would help avoid constant touching, asking to hold him and such....however, if that's not an option, just say you can't make it- please, you've just come into the greatest, no fail excuse of all time- the baby card!!

  • Put a bottle of hand sanitizer in the diaper bag and make EVERYONE sanitize their hands before touching LO. The hospital I had DD at actually made ALL my visitors do that before they held her(cause it is flu season) and I still do it to this day. So, far the only issues we've had are thrush and a cold in her eye.
