Registering at Walmart

Hi ladies!

DH and I are going to register at BRU and Walmart this weekend.  I'm not a big fan of Walmart (prefer Target)  but there isn't a BRU or Target in my hometown so we needed a place that was convenient for them as well.  Any recommendations on which Walmart to go to?  We live in Mt Washington but will go where ever within reason if it's a nicer one :)

Also, for those who registered at BRU and Walmart - how was your experience?

TIA!

Re: Registering at Walmart

  • Go to the one in Cockeysville. They have the biggest baby selection out of any around.

Just a warning, I had a Walmart reg because my family lives near Walmarts but almost everything I registered for was not at their store. It wasn't like it was off the wall stuff but the brand of bottles, the exact bouncy chair, all sorts of stuff wasn't there.

Many people ended up going to BRU or Target anyway. BRU mostly had the same stuff store to store and Target was hit and miss too. A lot of what I got was purchased online. I liked BRU for their return policy.

  • I had to register at Walmart since the closest Target and BRU to DH's family is 2+ hours away. I just did it online. So far I think only 1 item has actually been purchased from the Walmart registry. It seems most items that we put on the registry can only be bought online, which most of DH's relatives don't have internet, so it defeats the purpose. But just keep in mind that buying online is always an option.

  • Thanks for the responses!  How did you guys decide what to register for at Walmart vs. other places?  I'm hoping the Walmart in my hometown caries a lot of the same things...it's newly renovated and now a super Walmart so one can hope lol!

  • I pretty much went down my BRU list and just registered for the same items or similar if they didn't carry the same brands. Then I monitored the registry and deleted or marked purchased as they came off.

  • I didn't register at Walmart, only BRU but we went to the store and got most of the stuff on the list but then I had to go online to get everything.

I've had a few friends register on Amazon and it makes life a lot easier.

Honestly, I've given up shopping in the stores for registries, its so hard to figure out what the description is on so many things.

  • Thanks for all the advice :)  We ended up going to Walmart today only to find that their gift registry was broken and we weren't able to register in the store!!  So we went to BRU and registered there and now I'm working on our registry at Walmart.  Sheesh who thought registering would be this big of an ordeal lol!  :)

  • I registered at walmart too, my walmart also had a broken registry so I had to do it online, it was really hard to find items that were sold in stores.
