I pronounce is Cah-rah, but these are one of those names that have several pronunciations.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Yep, both ways work. I used to know someone named Cara, and it was pronounced "Care-ah" but my husband still always called ger Car-ah. I think I like Car-ah better.
It's my name and I pronounce it Ka-rah. I hear it that way and Care-ah. I've found a lot of differences in pronunciation (sp?) are regional.
I wish it was regional but I also get called both. I still love my name though and correcting someone is not a huge deal, having to correct them several times leads to me intentionally mispronouncing their name though

I have heard it both ways, and honestly, I like them both. I guess if I were choosing that name for my own child I would pronounce it Care-ah.

CARE-uh
Both pronunciations are correct. This is just how I pronounce it, personally.
Care-ah.
I like the name Kari (CAR-ee) but am concerned people might think it's CARE-ee.

I usually say Car-uh....but, to me, both are acceptable. I feel the same about the name Tara.
My sister's name is Cara. We pronounce it Care-ah. My parents didn't want to spell it Kara because my Dad's name is Kerry.
Her middle name is Elizabeth and she often gets called Cara Beth. She had to correct now and then on the pronunciation but it wasn't too bad for that.
I wish it was regional but I also get called both. I still love my name though and correcting someone is not a huge deal, having to correct them several times leads to me intentionally mispronouncing their name though
Everyone I have ever know who spelled is Cara was Care - ah
Everyone I have ever know who spelled it Kara has been Kar-ah
CA-ra
(like car but with the R on the second syllable)
