My brother changed his relationship with his long time girlfriend to engaged today.  I was talking to my husband on IM when I saw it and promptly typed about a million ?!?!?!? before realizing the day.  He almost got me .

2 years ago today I nearly missed the birth of my nephew (I was asked to be in the room) because when my brother called and told me to get to Good Sam quick because they were having the baby, I hung up on him repeatedly. He is a known prankster and I didn't believe him.

My SIL has her babies so quick (he was out in 1 push... no lie. I hate her ) My Mom finally called and I rushed there from Ikea where I was shopping.

I made it with 26 minutes to spare.

My dad did the doozie of all April Fools Jokes.  I was a teen, so probably in HS.  He often bought just one lottery ticket on a Fri or Sat.  Every Sunday morning he'd plop the ticket down in front of my brother & myself & ask us to look up the numbers in the Sunday paper.  That Sunday we started screaming, jumping up & down, running around the house b/c he hit every single number.  He was just laughing and told us to take a second look at the ticket.  That Sunday was April 1 & he had a ticket printed that morning with the winning numbers from the night before.  Ha-ha Dad!

I hate April Fool's Day.

When I was 10 (or maybe 11), my dad told me that Jason Goodpaster had called while I was outside riding my bike. I had the BIGGEST crush on him, like since I was 8 years old. I got all giddy with excitement, ran to the phone, and called him back. He had no idea what I was talking about. SO MEAN!

When I was 11, my sister and I put a rubber spider in the coffee can so my mom would find it when she made coffee for my dad the next morning.

She flung the can of coffee across the kitchen and it went everywhere.  You guessed it, we had to clean it up.  Then we got a talking-to from our dad about scaring the life out of our mom.  So not fun.

So we don't play jokes any more
