So... is this normal?

My kid is draining each boob in about 8 minutes or less.  TBH he averages about 6 minutes on each.  I know he's getting enough to eat and it's really nice for me, but it just seems so fast.  The only real problem or issue I can think of is I still have a forceful letdown and he needs to burp like crazy after a feeding.

Is that mostly normal?  I only ask because at our two month appointment when I told the pedi he was BFing for 10 minutes a side she said "wow that's really efficient!" and seemed kinda shocked.  Maybe it was a good shocked but I didn't think to ask at the time since he vaccinations were only a few minutes away.

This is exactly how my DD was.  Lactaction consultant gave me this analogy.  Some people take an hour to eat dinner some take 15 minutes.  Really doesn't make a difference as long as they are getting a full meal!!

It's completely normal. He will probably get even more efficient as he gets older. My DD can empty one in about 5 minutes lol.
