Babies on the Brain

Two weeks?!?!

My surgery is finally scheduled for April 19, but I discovered that I have to be home from work for two weeks after.

Give me ideas of what to do with myself for that long. Any good books or magazines I should order/download/rent/borrow?

Fair warning: PWing will happen.

Re: Two weeks?!?!

  • Watch all of LOST?
  • The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. The sequel just came out too so it will keep you busy. They are lengthy but it's a great story, amazing characters and beautiful writing.

    Good luck with your surgery!

  • We have:

Sex & the City, Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Entourage, Season 1 of Dawson's Creek, Season 2 of Roseanne, an Ernest box set, and lots and lots of movies. I have a bunch of books that people gave me when I was on bedrest too. Let me know if you want me to bring stuff by. We'll be in your area the weekend after your surgery & I'd be happy to stop by!

  • A couple of books I really like recently are Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford and The Heretic Queen by Michelle Moran.

TV shows on DVD are good choices, too.

  • I will also repeat the Dexter suggestion.  DH and I just finished the series and I am going through some withdrawal.

  • glad they finally have you scheduled! I second the netflix suggestions, and PW it up all you want. Do you knit? Crochet? do oragami? You could get a few of those crossword or sodoku books to blow through too.

Fred gave me crossword puzzles and some magazines and the Anne of Green Gables DVDs. (Fred's awesome)

SIL gave me a list of sewing projects she wants me to take a stab at for my nephew-to-be, and I'm taking notes for all these books and DVD suggestions. :)
