ntr: ebay etiquette question

I'm not really versed in ebaying - totally newbie :)

Is it bad etiquette to email a seller and ask if they would offer a 'buy it now' price on a 'bid' item?

I don't want to offend the seller if it's not acceptable ebaying ;)  I really want the items!

  • If I were the seller I would keep the bidding going.  If you're THAT interested in them I would hope to get as much money out of you as possible.

  • As a seller, it would really depend on the item, and how much the person offered for it. You can always email the person and make a reasonable offer - no harm in that.

I agree. I have had people do that when I am selling. I tend to have the policy though that I let my auctions ride out.

  • As a seller I would not be offended.  But I might not agree either.  I have done it in the past though if it was an item I was not confident on selling and had no/ few watchers/views.
