Still not so sure about this musical Grey's Anatomy

I had planned to skip it because the idea sounded kind of dumb.  I just saw a clip of Sara Ramirez on Rachael Ray and Holy ***, that woman can sing.  Now I may have to watch it just to see her.  Anyone else planning to watch?

In general, I don't think this season has been that great.  What are your thoughts?

  • The scrubs musical episode was freaking awesome. I'm not sure about it in grey's anatomy. Have they said why they're doing it? How is it tied into the SL?

  • I don't think they are doing a typical "musical" episode (but I could totally be wrong).  I thought that they would be singing popular songs from the show when they fit into the plot.

I'm on the fence.  I know Sara Ramirez won a Tony so she'll be good but I don't know about everyone else.

Of course I'll be watching either way.  I agree, it's kind of been a lackluster season so far.

  • Callie is unconscious after a car accident.  I think the singing is going to be her "thoughts" as the doctors are working on her.  I think it's mostly original songs and to be honest, the lyrics in the song I heard were kind of corny.  But Sara Ramirez's voice was amazing.  The quality of her performance went a long way toward overcoming the "dumbness" of what she was singing.

I'm watching it now. It's painful. It feels like an early April fools joke.

Seriously.  It was so distracting, I feel like I missed a lot of what happened.  Like I'm not sure if Dr. Yang's procedure worked or not?
