This may sound like a dumb question. But what should under arm temperature be? In the hospital, LO's temp was always around 97.6. Today he is extremely fussy and I took his temp (under the arm) and it is 98.6. This is one degree higher than usual. Does this mean he has a slight fever? What is a normal range for under the arm? Those of you that have talked to your pedi about this, what temperature does he/she want you to call?

I'm pretty sure they told us that you should add a degree to the result of the under arm temperature and we should call the Dr. if the under arm temp. gets to 99.
We take her forehead temp (which is what the hospital did). They said not to add anything to the forehead or underarm temp. LO's temp has consistently been 98.6. We were told to call if it gets to 100.4.
