Hello ladies-

I was wondering if there are any good books out there for first time dads. Let me know if you know of any. Thanks so much!

  • I got my fiance The Expectant Father and also, this one: https://www.amazon.com/Pregnancy-Sucks-Men-Miracle-Miserable/dp/159337156X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1301589983&sr=1-2

It is funny but still informative, unlike some other "funny dad-to-be books"

  • I just bought, My boys can swim- the official guys guide to pregnancy and Dude you're gonna be a Dad.  We shall see...

  • DH read Expectant Father.

For actual baby care info, I love Baby 411.  It's succinct, direct, and SO informative about how to care for a baby.  Perfect for a dude and for new moms.

  • My DH is not a book reader- however we both got alot from The Happiest Baby On the Block DVD.  It was wonderful and some of the techniques used DH used in the hospital.  It was something nice for us to both do together to prepare for our DS.

  • My DH is reading something with "Caveman" in the title.  Pretty straightforward and entertaining.  I can't remember the exact title.

I have every pregnancy book under the sun, so he's also learning a lot from me reading little snippets to him...(whether he likes it or not is unknown!)

Mine picked out that one, too.  It's called The Caveman's Pregnancy Companion.  https://www.amazon.com/Cavemans-Pregnancy-Companion-Survival-Expectant/dp/140273526X  There's also The Caveman's Guide to Baby's First Year that I'll probably pick up for him when I'm ready for What to Expect During the First Year.

  • I bought DH She's having a baby...and I'm having a breakdown. Its short and pretty funny and he reads it and quotes from it all the time!
