How big/old do LOs have to be to use it. My 33 weekers are 9 weeks. I know I have a while before I could use a double running stroller. I'm just curious when you started using yours. I'm shopping for one now - curious about how much time I have.
TIA!!
Re: Those who use a double running stroller - especially with preemies
I have the BOB Duallie Sport. Without the carseat adapter (which I never got), you can walk with them at 8 weeks and run with them at 8 months. Their back and core muscles aren't strong enough to run super early.
Good luck. It's a great workout. Gumiberg is a pro stroller runner, but it still kicks my aaaass. She swears it gets easier, but I think she's a liar.
We have the BOB duallie, but only recently started walking with it. For the first few months, it was just easier to use the DSNG and then it was just too cold to walk outside.
We plan to start running with it at the end of April when the babies are 8 months b/c like Haven said, the instructions say to wait until then when the babies' muscles are strong enough to handle the running. I can't wait!
Also, when I spoke to the BOB company, the car seat adapter is only for the single. The double can't handle two carseats.
We paid $560 for our new dualie at a local running store. So, $500 for a used one seems a bit high.
$500 for a Duallie Sport!? A brand new 2011 retails for $429!
I purchased the 2010 version last may for $425. I bought it through REI during their 20% off sale, which they're having right now, and ultimately paid $373 including shipping.
My BOB is a beast, but I looooove it. It was the one thing I was willing to spend a lot of money on.
We have a Revolution SE. I walk the boys in it now, but I think it says not to run with them until 8 months. Mine were preemies, too, and because of the weather here I probably won't get to run with them until next spring.
I purchased my stroller from Bed Bath & Beyond -- you can use the 20% off coupon and they'll order it through Buy Buy Baby. The coupons say that they're not valid on BOB, but the store ignores that. With 20% off the retail price, I don't think I paid much more than $500...
it does! it does!
i was actually thinking about you the other day - ive noticed that ive gotten into the (bad?) habit of relaxing on the stroller while i run. i put my elbow on the handlebar and lean forward...it seriously makes it so easy to go fast. i have pic, look at my elbow, i'm leaning on it (the only reason my other elbow is not on the handle bar is I am making a turn).
OP - its going to depend on neck control but around 6 months.
