Why is it so difficult to not put cheese on a sandwich????

After the Egg McMuffin post below, I had to go to Dunkin Donuts for a sandwich :)  Here was the convo:

Me: I'd like a #5 on an everything bagel with NO CHEESE (yeah, I raised my voice when I said it)
Drive thru guy: You want bacon egg and cheese on everything?
Me: No, NO CHEESE, just bacon and egg.
Drive thru guy: OK anything else?
Me: (I finished ordering MH's sandwich and drinks)
Drive thru guy: So that's bacon, egg and cheese on everything (and repeats rest of order)
Me: No, NO CHEESE on the bagel
Drive thru guy: OK that will be (gives total) Please pull around.

I get home with my sandwich.  Cheese.  Son of a biitch!!  What is wrong with people?

  • ugh, I HATE that! And cheese is one of the hardest things to take off after they get it all melted all over everything.

My husband often ends up with double cheese because I switch my top cheesy bun for his bottom dry bun!

  • That's annoying. I never have to deal with that though because I get cheese on everything! haha

  • If it was anything but american cheese, I wouldn't mind.  I just don't like american.  This seriously happens every time I go there.  I repeat myself a hundred times and about 50% of the time, I actually get no cheese.

  • I hate when you order something with ketchup only and they assume that meant you want mustard too! Why can't they just listen? Urgh!

  • I flip my shiit any time they don't put cheese (or extra cheese) on my sandwich yet charge me for it.  Seriously...it's not that difficult.

  • Amen sister! I deal with this so freaking often because I am vegan and people just don't freaking get it. I went to a restaurant and ordered a pizza with no cheese and when it came I could tell it had cheese in the sauce (I have super cheese radar) and when I asked the waitress she said "when you said no cheese, I didn't know you meant NO cheese" well what else could I have meant?

  • My contracting gig just ended but before that husband made us each our own personal "egg mcmuffin" type breakfast sandwiches everyday and would ASK what I wanted on it.  Really it only took him a few minutes and HE always got it right :)  Maybe you can enlist someone at home (leave the post open as a hint-hint) to do this for you.
  • OMG!  LOL!  I had to laugh at that!  IDK why no matter how many times you repeat something, people still get it wrong!!!  But, I'm really jealous of you B.E.C.!!!  I've been dying for one all week long!

  • those young cooks at the back are on auto-pilot and they just tend to make things the normal way even when it says something different...my mom always gets her order wrong because she makes changes to her order.

not saying that it's acceptable just that they are used to make the exact same thing hundreds of times in a row so they get in a "zone" and forget very quickly...I speak from experience during my teen years at KFC...I always felt terrible when i made a mistake though because I was the person who tried to make the food look picture perfect!

  • UGHH! I totally hate cheese on my breakfast sandwiches!!! I'm so sorry they ruined your breakfast. Our McDonald's lady said to order sandwiches with only what you want on them. I don't know if that will work with your dude but it might be worth trying. Lol I have a McDonald's lady...I swear I'm not there THAT much. hahahah

I seriously have a love/hate relationship with Panera bread over this issue. I love their Bacon Turkey Bravo sandwich with avocado added. Avocado can be added to any sandwich, for like $1 extra. AT LEAST half the time they charge me for the avocado but don't put it on. Arg! And I always get it to-go so it's too late then.
