Follie Check??

I had a follie check this morning.  I am on cd 8 with 5 days on Gonal F.  The nurse said that there are 3 measurable follicles, ranging from 11-15 and 4 smaller ones.  I only have 1 ovary, so I knew that I would not get a ton of eggs, but this seems really low to me.  Do you think there is a chance that this cycle will be canceled due to poor response?

Re: Follie Check??

  • It's way to early to tell. You could get a growth spurt later in the game. Anyway, you have at least 3, which the minimum for many clinics to proceed.

7 on one side is about average. You can't compare yourself to girls here with huge hauls, especially those that have PCOS.

    Sending lots of grow vibes.

  • No way this would be considered a poor response.  Like others said, 7 is average per ovary.  I am 31 years old, do not have pcos, and I ended up with 15 total.  I, too, had lots of smaller follicles after 5 days and was worried but they caught up.  As hard as it is, try to relax and trust your RE.  GL!

  • Thank you all for the advice.  You were right.  My cycle was not canceled and we go back on Sat. for another u/s and bloodwork.  Hopefully the others will catch up!
