Cloth Diapering

swimming in cloth?

Hey ladies! So I am ready to take Riis to the beach and have no idea what to do when it comes to diapering her. Can I still use cloth? What do you do when you LO goes in the water? Thanks

Re: swimming in cloth?

  • There are cloth swim diapers. They're basically a PUL shell with a light mesh inner, because the real goal is just to keep poop in. Or you can use an unstuffed pocket.
  • We have the AppleCheeks swim diaper.  I've also thought about using an unstuffed pocket.  If you go that route you could keep the insert in while you're playing and pull it out when you go in the water.

  • Probably a dumb question....but then does the pee just go in the water/pool?  Tongue Tied  Not sure how I feel about that. lol.

  • Disposable swim diapers also let the pee in the water. They can't be absorbent or they would just soak up the pool water.....

Ahh good to know...I really had never thought about how they worked!

  • Mother Ease also makes an awesome swim diaper; they snap at the sides so they're really easy to take off should you have a messy one.

Yup...the only purpose of a swim diaper (disposable or cloth) is to catch the poop :)

  • I had the Imse Vimse swim dipes for my dd and loved them. Ill be getting a couple for my new LO when it warms up some. :)
