For the past 3 days, I have been feeling so lightheaded. My BP is fine(school nurse has checked it for me every day this week) I threw up 2x yesterday and called my dr. She suggested I take 2 days off of work and just rest if I still feel off.
I'm a special ed teacher in an inclusion preschool program. I work in 5 different classrooms. I had to go in today since I had 2 IEP meeting(which had already been rescheduled once) I took it easy during the rest of the day. One of the teachers I work with is a good friend and I hung out in her room with my feet up and worked with kids at the table. I most likely will call out tomorrow, send DS to the sitter, and spend the day in bed.
I did overdo it this weekend. DS's 3rd birthday party was on Sunday here at the house and I was running around all day Sat getting stuff ready.
I have been on the couch since I got home. I am just so tired and wiped out. Still feel lightheaded too.
I am anemic. I know that fatigue is a side effect of that but is feeling so lightheaded another side effect? I just started taking iron pills last week.
Re: feeling lightheaded most of the time
The other thing is that I notice even though my BP measures ok, often when I am standing in place for too long I get very lightheaded - I think because it drops. For example, if I am standing waiting for the subway for 10 minutes, sometimes I start to feel like fainting, whereas if I were walking I would be fine. It sounds like your job might keep you on your feet a lot. I'm sure that doesn't help.
I am anemic as well and the feeling of being lightheaded was my strongest symptom. I have been on iron supplements for a couple weeks now and I am slowly starting to feel better. I think it takes some time to get into your system.
I hope you get some relief soon!
