Pregnant after a Loss

Classes for Grandparents to be????

So.....DH got to talking the other day about what classes we are going to plan to take in order to get ready for the baby. I want him and I to go to as many as possible.

So after talking about him going to a "Daddy Boot Camp" class we got to talking about our moms (dads are either deceased or out of the picture). MIL hasn't been around a baby by herself since 1979 and my mom has recently been around babues but not by herself. I am sure they are going to want to watch him if we want a night off and I know A LOT has changed in the past 20 some years regarding SIDS, Nutrition, and other info.

So my question is...has anyone ever heard of classes for grandparents to be? I would really love to enroll them in a class or 2.

If you have and your ILs or parents took them......how were they?

  • LUCKY! :-)

I just checked with my hospital and they don't have anything like that.....boo hoo!

Maybe I can find one that is offered offsite???

  • I'd never be able to convince my Mom to take a class like that *stubborn*. I just told her about the changes, SIDS, etc :) but she is going to take infant CPR with me.

  • My hospital also offers grandparents classes. Can you check with the childbirth educators in your area to see if anyone offers similar classes? They definitely exist in some areas. Good luck!
