WTH is this pain? Preg related???

I find myself blaming every crazy happening on pregnancy when I'm pregnant... Even though I know it's not always the case... With DS, besides pregnancy induced carpal tunnel starting at 15 weeks I had a very easy, uneventful pregnancy. Oh and wicked heartburn, but he was born with more hair than a muppet so it made sense ; )
And I know every pregnancy is different... To to the point.. The past couple of days I've had a shooting pain from my left arse cheek to my lower back.. Sometimes it's so bad I have to catch my breath and give it a minute without moving... Or I have been reading in bed and literally can't get out of bed... I've brought out my body pillow and started sleeping on my side... Maybe I pulled something?? Or is this a pregnancy thing that will go away??

  • Sounds like sciatic nerve pain to me.
  • I am glad you posted this b/c I have had the EXACT same pain (left side too!) for about the last week. It gets really bad when I have to stand for any length of time and no amount of stretching or massage makes it any better :-( I refuse to admit this is a pregnancy symptom since I am so early on but who knows...

Oh and I had sciatic nerve pain (at least what I thought was SNP) with Nicholas and that felt like I was literally having a pushpin shoved in my butt/leg this feels not as sharp and sudden as that but really uncomfortable nonetheless

  • It sounds like your sciatic nerve.  I had horrible lower back pain when I was pregnant with DD.  I ended up going to the chiropractor and it helped immensely.
  • Thanks ladies!!! I will have to check out a chiropractor if it doesn't get better. At least I know I'm not crazy : )
