How long did you wait?

Just what the question ask.  How long did you wait after a miscarriage to try again? If it was either natural, IUI, or IVF?  This last one was IVF.  DH and I talked some about it.  I think we would like to try as soon as we can.  Any insite would be great.

I am so sorry for your loss. If you go over to the "TTC after a Loss" board they have a blog that everyone polls certain information and this is one of the questions on that blog.

My missed m/c from IUI#1 was in September 2010 and we didn't try again until December 2010. After that IUI failed, we had to take a forced break for 3 months while we waited to see a genetics counselor.  

If I remember correctly the consensus on the TTCAL board was always different. I don't think there are any reputable studies out there that can be used to determine what length of time you should wait and everyone's doctors seem to suggest different things (certain time periods, anytime after the first full AF, anytime after the second AF). 

I think it comes down to what ever you and YH are able to handle emotionally. GL!!

Hi Krissywave, I'm really sorry for your loss.  It's heartbreaking, I know.

My m/c from IUI#1 was in July 2010 and I waited until I had a regular AF.  So, I had the m/c, then AF, and then I tried again on that cycle.  I have heard a lot of times you are more fertile after a m/c...I don't know if I believe that or not or what studies have proven that, but I found it a little inspiring.

For my missed m/c (d+c @ 10.5 weeks) I could TTC right away. Unassisted pregnancy.

IVF chemical, one clinic would let me start ivf right away (one month mandatory break), another clinic won't let me cycle for 2-3 cycles. When you are able to move forward with another medicated cycle may depend on your RE; it's best to consult with them about it as recommendations may vary.

I had a missed miscarriage and D&C at about 9 weeks and we did not wait at all.  Doc said the only issue might be a thin lining, which would prevent implantation, but would not cause a miscarriage if the implantation was successful.

I'm so sorry for your loss  ((HUGS)) I had a natural m/c (conceived with no assist.) and waiting until AF showed and then we could try again right away.  GL to you!

I had a M/C in early Feb and took 1 month off from IVF. I am currently in my 2WW for my final IVF cycle. I can't do this anymore.

I am very sorry for your loss

I just had a missed m/c and miscarried naturally (I got pregnant on IUI #3).  We were told on Monday by my RE to "wait 2 periods" to try again.  I have to clarify with him on Thursday whether that means to wait 2 full cycles, or just 1 full cycle and then we can start after I get my period on the 2nd one.  I have heard different doctors recommend different things, but I trust my RE completely.

IUI #3 got me pregnant and I had a m/c at 10 weeks. The RE made me wait 2 full cycles. It ended up being April before we could try again which was 4 months later:<

My last m/c from IVF#1 also at 10 weeks was Nov 1st. and I still haven't been able to cycle again. I had to wait 8 weeks to have RPL testing done and now I have to see a Hematologist. We are looking at end of summer.

Both of my miscarriages have been after Femara / TI cycles.  My first was a missed m/c at almost 9wks.  My OB told us to wait 1-cycle.  We waited 1-cycle, did Femara again, got pregnant again.  We lost that pregnancy at 5w1d.  My NP told us to wait 2-cycles.  My OB told us to wait 6-cycles.  I spoke to my RE about it and she agreed with the NP, so we waited 2-cycles.
