ENT docs

For adults...  Who do you like?  I know all of the kid docs, but I need one for me.  I posted about an audiologist awhile back.  Common sense hav2 now prevails.  I need to stop dodging the inevitable.  I need sinus surgery to remove the polyps in my sinus cavity.  Only then will I be able to hear a normal convo with background noise.  I will take all the recos I can get here.  I am a scared puppy.

Re: ENT docs

  • I had ear surgery in 2000 to repair a hole in my eardrum (numerous ear infections as a child/4 sets of tubes/lots of damage)  Dr. Myles Pensak at UC did mine, he is the head of the ENT department at UC, very highly respected.  I know he specializes in ears and head/neck, so you might need to call and see if he does sinus too.

  • Yep.  I know and have worked with Dr P.  Thanks for refreshing my brain.  I know he is good.  I hope someone can help me hear again.  I am a sad girl right now.  Hoping to avoid hearing aids, but thinking that might not work well.

  • I hope you can avoid them too as well!  I have them - or well, I *should* have them, but my first set died and the warranty is expired so I'm doing without right now. And at $3000 for the set and no insurance coverage for them, we are saving so I can get new ones next year.  Not being able to hear normally sucks.  I'm almost deaf in my left ear.

  • When I was younger I saw Dr Baluyat in kenwood to get my tonsils out. I was still a kid, but I don't think he was a pediatric doctor. Good luck!

Can I pick your brain about life with them?  I honestly think they might be in my future, with or without surgery.  I need to know the ins and outs of living with them.

  • I don't see him myself, but DH does -- highly recommend Dr. Thomas Kereiakes.  He's with Cincinnati Head & Neck.  Offices all over the place.  DH has seen him in Kenwood, Clifton and Anderson, but I know they have other locations.  He's a great doctor.

  • Dr. Raymond Coors. I think he's with Cincinnati ENT. I've been going to him since I was little. He's on Winton Road in Finneytown.
  • Dr. Alter Peerless in Blue Ash is my ENT. He didn't do my surgery as I had that done prior to moving here but I got him from Cincinnati Magazine's listing of best doctors by specialty.

Kereiakes did my deviated septum surgery.  Highly recommend!

  • I went to Tri-County ENT, Dr. Bradley Lemberg and Dr. Richard Skurow. I have heard Dr. Lemberg is an excellent surgeon but he misdiagnosed me a few times over the years. Dr. Skurow was excellent. The staff there is great but you get pretty friendly with ppl after allergy shots every week for 8 years. :)
