4/1/11

I went to the doc today and I'm still not dilated. Not even just a little. So I scheduled a c-section for friday....4/1/11! I did want to have a vbac earlier in the pregnancy, but I guess you can say I chicken out.lol Im so tired of being pregnant. Now I just hope I'm ready for this painful recovery of a c-section.Its been almost 5 years since I had one.Wish me luck!

Re: 4/1/11

  • Congrats? You posted something about this before and I'm confused why you think you won't be able to have a vaginal delivery? You do realize that you can walk around dilated to 4cm for weeks or you can go from 0-10 in hours right? Maybe I'm not getting something...

  • Yea I do realize that, but by having a vbac its all on me to progress with the labor. My doc said he cant give me anything to help the contractions come or anything. He may not even be able to break my water. So I wanna take the easy way out and have another c-section.Just by him checking me to see if I'm dilated is so painful and I don't think I can take all that pain.I haven't even had sex since the end of July and cant imagine all that pain with a baby coming out of me.I was so determined at first but I don't think this baby wants to come out.My due date is next Friday and I'm just ready to get this over with.
  • Good luck to you. :)

  • Good luck.  I'm hoping to deliver vaginally and no c section.  To me, it's not the easy way out.

  • I would probably do the same.  I wasn't even going to attempt a VBAC (mostly because I am a horrible candidate), but think I would have chickened out too.  It is easier to know what to expect and have the ability to plan/schedule a little bit.

I think unless you've already had a c/s it's difficult to imagine why it would be easier.  Plus even if you tried the VBAC, there is no guarantee you wouldn't labor for hours only to end up back at square one.

Best of luck to you!  Sorry your VBAC plans didn't work out!
