DD's name is Ivy Mae. When we first started talking about names we decided to look at all the family names and if there was something that we liked we would consider but we weren't set on her name being in the family. I mentioned that I had a great aunt Ivy and Dh said he really liked it. We then were throwing around middle names and Mae was on his side. He has two great aunt with the middle name Mae. One was Ina Mae. We put the two together and really loved it.

Our LO is Tyler Blake... We decided the name from my mother... She is in remission from cancer and was not sure if she was going to live at a certain point. So, her name started with a T and we thought that we would name the baby with the beginning of her first name...

DS's name is Lukas. I'm kinda a Star Wars nerd so I liked Luke, but since our last name is single syllable we went with Lukas bc we thought it sounded better.
There is mucho drama re: future LO name though. I had wanted to name my future daughter Kaiya since I was about 6. I saw the movie "Willow" and fell in love with the name. I told this to my SIL last summer when we were discussing names for her impending DD. I also flat out said "don't steal my name but..."
Guess what? She did! Same spelling and everything! Now I cringe inside every time someone mentions my beautiful little niece. I know there are other names but it made me so sad!
Sorry to hear your SIL decided to use the name that you liked. Thankfully, BIL & SIL are done having kids after she has my nephew, she is due in May, so we don't have to worry about names with them.
