Should I call the pedi again?

I called around 4 b/c DS had fluid coming from his ear/dried on the outside when he woke from his nap. He has had a cold for a week and has been cranky. He had an EI a few weeks ago and I'm thinking he never really got rid of it. They haven't called back and close at 7...do I call back or just wait? I know they are busy but if they want to see him I'd think that decision would need to be made sooner than later. FWIW, he's acting "ok" for the moment.

I think it is pretty late in the day and will probably not call you back until tomorrow.

I would call back. My son had ear infections for two straight months and never got rid of them. If I wasn't persistant, it took them forever to call back and sometimes they didn't call back until the next day, which is plenty of time for it to turn into a full blown ear infection and therefore a very sick baby.

The receptionist said the nurse was on the phone and she'd call me back. I am not usually antsy but I have to work tomorrow and if DH has to bring him I'm afraid he'll miss some info.

I would just take him in.  It sure sounds like an ear infection to me, and they'll need to see him to confirm and give a prescription.

I would call.  I have called after hours. I assume that all pedis have an answering service.  You cannot make an appointment, but the pedi will call back and answer any questions you have.

Thanks ladies. I called and they suggested tylenol tonight and we go in tomorrow.
