Today i had to bring DS back to the dr.
Hes had RSV w/pnemonia...Bronchilitis...croup....and now they *think* the bronchilitis is returning. Im sick of the drs. sick of taking him to the ER. i just want my kid to be healthy. He actually left the pediatricians office 2 weeks ago via ambulance for his breathing. scared the s** out of me. DH poo poos everything and i think there is something seriously wrong with DS and no one is paying any attention to me.
I have to put DS back on a nebulizer treatment 4xs a day and a steroid thru the neb 1x per day.
i lysol EVERYTHING he plays with after he goes to bed every night and he is still constantly sick.
why can he not get rid of these viruses....and they are back to back since December/January.
is there a better dr that i should take him to, like a specialist? ENT? pulminary? am i really going overboard? WWYD? is anyone else dealing with this issue?
Re: why is my kid always sick!
I feel the same way like you. DD has been in and out of respiratory episodes since october, and I also do the nebulizing stuff.
have you considered allergies??
I've just recently learned that there is food induced asthma, I'm still not sure if DD has this, but since we cut back dairy and eggs she has been better.. (aka 2 weeks)..
I hope your LO feels better soon and that you find what is't going on to your LO!
trust your instincts mama
i asked my pedi about allergies because everywhere he goes, including our house, has pets.
pedi said that its unlikley since they are viruses. and hes getting them from somewhere. DH and I have no allergies to animals or environmental.
We have had the same issues with DD.
RSV/pnemonia/hospitalized several times.
We see a pulminary specialist and a GI dr.
Turns out she has severe reflux and aspirtates into her lungs which causes the pnemonia.
We have had her on breathing treatments twice a day since Oct. Dr said her lungs are very damaged from the RSV and the apirating. So she gets a lot of lung issues.
Is he on pulmicort? if not, he needs to get on that-not just albuterol!
Yes, I would definitely ask to see a specialist! It can't hurt and you will only gain more info! Hang in there I know how frustrating it can be.
They told me DD will most likely have asthma when she gets older.
Our DD was also tested for allergies and has zero! Dr told us some kids react to the weather and enviornment-which is why the pulmicort helps. He said it tells the lungs NOT to react to outside things! It's really helped DD!
