Baby Showers

Should we...?

... wait to make a registry until someone officially offers to throw us a shower?  My friends from work have made some general conversation about it, but nothing has been planned.

I just don't want to come off like we expect anyone to buy us gifts or throw us a party.  I won't be heartbroken if it doesn't happen.  But people keep asking if we've registered yet which has me wondering if maybe we should?

  • register, if only for the completion coupon the store will give you. (10% off usually). If people are asking if you are registered, they are most likely planning on giving you a gift, so register.

  • Registries don't have to equal showers.  IDK why you wouldn't register if only for the completion coupons and other giveaway things you get.

  • Go ahead and register.  People will buy gifts regardless if there is a shower or not. Often times, I am not invited to a shower and still want to buy a gift after the baby is born - first place I look is Target.com and babiesrus.com to see if the person has registered.  I always buy the gift off of the registry.

And, as previously stated, you get a coupon just for registering, that makes it worth your time.
