Grunting while eating solids?

DD has been eating solids for 3 weeks now and for the last week has been grunting during her feeding.  I don't think it's because she's not enjoying what she's eating since she's opening her mouth, etc. and she's also never had any reflux issues.  I'm not sure if she is in any kind of pain (she isn't grunting while she's playing or any other time) or if it's just her way of communicating for me to feed her faster.  Any one else's LO do this?

Re: Grunting while eating solids?

  • Oh thank god Stephanie's not the only one!  We were wondering the same thing - only started up a about a week ago, but she's been having solids since just after she turned 6 months.

Our only thought - sometimes she might be pooping, other times, it's her way of telling us she's had enough or doesn't like the food we're giving her.

If you discover something else - let me know, we're trying to figure this out too!  Good luck!

  • When DS does this it usually means he is pooping.  He makes a lot of noises while he eats.
