Epipen/flying question

I carry an epipen for DD.  We have a trip coming up where we will be flying.  Do I need a doctors note for airport security?  She didn't have the epipen the last time we flew so I haven't had to deal with this yet.  Thanks!

I would think that you would need a dr's note.

I've never had a note for mine but that was before the current security procedures. Do you have the rx label on it? That would probably be enough.

I carry pens for DD and myself. Technically, you do not need a note to get through security. I did get one from our allergist, just in case. They had a standard letter that they just faxed over to me. We got through security with no problem at all.

If the pen has a prescription label on it , you shouldn't need a note from a physician - if not, then I would bring a note or copy of the prescription.

Mine has a prescription label on it and that was always enough.

I've flown with mine a few times and didn't need a note. They never even brought it up to me. I think you will be fine!

To add to this, mine never have the prescription thing on it for some reason. The box that the two come in does, but I just bring the epipen. I think it's pretty common and not something they worry about at security.

I was beginning to think I was the only one who had the prescription label on the box and not on the epipen itself.
