what happened? (sleep ?)

As I sit here listening to my baby cry in his crib, I wonder..what happened to my great sleeper? We did CIO to sleep train and get him off the paci at 10 months. He did great and had been sleeping like a champ. Now he cries for naps (he takes 1 in the morning and one in the afternoon) and the only way to calm him is to stand over his crib and rub his chest/back. The problem is...just as he is falling asleep, he checks to make sure I'm still there and if I'm not still touching him he wakes up and the crying begins again. Also for 3 straight nights he has been waking up at 1:30 and can't fall asleep again. I've tried bringing him to bed with us, nursing...etc. but nothing helps, he is just wide awake and just tossing and turning. Anyone have any advise, ideas? I really need help here...I haven't gotten much sleep since all this started about 5 days ago. TIA  by the way we also co-sleep... DS in crib in our room.

Re: what happened? (sleep ?)

  • Sorry, no tips here.  Especially since you are co-sleeping.  When I got Keira back in her bed, I slept on the floor the first couple nights because she would wake up and not go back to sleep unless I was already there.
  • Loading the player...
  • Do you have light in the room?. Sound machine or CD with lullabys (sp?)

DD went to some kind of phase like that. We had to had a lamp turned on and played music. She did cry for 1-2 minutes but then fall asleep.

My pedi told that sometimes they have nightmares, so they want to feel safe.

    GL!

  • We have a music box that we play as he is falling asleep at night and only play it again if he wakes up. We don't have any light in the room other than the one that comes through the window...
