Hubby and I are stuck: we've narrowed it down to three names and can't commit now : ) I'd love to get some feedback about what everyone's first impressions are for these:
Micah Archer kind of blurs together, and Gideon Oak sounds like something you'd see in a botanical garden. "And here we have the rare gideon oak, found only in the southernmost regions of Jordan..."
Robin - CO Mod * RP & JHutch Lover * Hufflepuff

HA - I love it!! Will definitely share this with my husby : )
Gideon was my husband's idea and I didn't love it at first - still like the sound of other names better. It's definitely not a "trendy" name - It's tough to choose between what's more important:
The meaning of a name, or how it sounds?
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't pick name where I knew the kid would get made fun of : ) But I also don't want to use a name that popular just because it's popular.
Gideon Archer. I asked about Oak just in case there was a family reason for using it. Just wanting a nature name isn't enough to get me to vote for it.
Re: Need some feedback: Gideon, Micah?
Here's the meanings:
Gideon: "Great warrior" who God takes from nothing and uses him to save his people.
Oak: to us means solid, steady, strong, not easily shaken, We, also love the idea of using a name from nature because we love the outdoors.
Archer: "Genuinely bold" To me means a man of action, skilled, etc.
Micah: "Who is like the Lord" We like the sound of this name better, but it has less significance with the meaning.
I think Gideon Archer sounds the best.

ditto
Gideon Archer.

I really REALLY don't care for Gideon. However I do like Micah!
