A Skuut metal balance bike is on kids woot - kids.woot.com - for $44 shipped.  Great deal!   We have loved having a balance bike for Ben.  He's a pro at it and will probably ride a two wheeler without training wheels this summer.

    It's like $48 something shipped, they charge a "woot tax" but still a good deal, we just bought one!  W is going to be so excited.  His favorite thing to do is to to REI and ride the balance bike around while I shop.
