Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Saw a photo of myself from three years ago ...

and it was kind of depressing. It was a pic from my SIL/BIL's wedding, which was 2 months before our wedding. I looked a lot thinner. In reality I think it's maybe 5-10 pounds, but it really makes a difference. No way could I wear the dress I wore to their wedding now. This may be flame-worthy, since a lot of people have even more weight to lose, but I don't like not feeling good about my physical self. I've been exercising (maybe not enough since I used to work out really hard), and I have a very healthy diet (with some sweets mixed in, lol). I need to jumpstart a new program because right now, I'm wishing I had never seen that photo.

  • Take the experience as motivation! The most sucess I've found with losing weight is to make lifestyle changes, not just following a fad program that I would never be able to maintain.  That's just my suggestion!  Goodluck with your journey!

  • Yes, just jumpstart your work out program.  You will get there, it just takes hard work!
  • I could have written this post! This is me exactly so you're not alone. We have a beach vacation planned so I'm hoping that's the motivation I need to lose my last 5 - 10 lbs.

Is it bad that although I'm depressed by that photo, I really would rather eat a cookie than work out right at this moment, haha

  • I just had my medical exam at work. It was depressing to see the stats from 5 years ago... weight, but the most impressive: thights and waist...

I need to get back into exercising.. but same as you, I'm prefering a cookie!

I'm sure this won't help, but neither my mom or MIL fitted in their clothes after the 1st baby. So it's one thing I'm proud of. Not all of them, but most of them.

  • Seeing the pics from my cousins wedding (I was the MOH) made me start working out. It was so depressing. I am about 30 lbs from where I should be, though. As soon as I started noticing results (mostly in my stomach) I got my BFP! I know I should continue working out but the exhaustion is unbelievable this time. GL and good for you for using that pic as motivation to get healthy.

  • Just do what I did and get knocked up again!  LOL  I kid, I kid.

I was feeling the same as you were though, and I hear you on the 5-10 extra pounds making a huge difference in your appearance and self-esteem.  What really started to work for me was to start eating like my son.  It may sound crazy, but I ensure that he has super healthy, well-balanced meals; I began to realize he was eating so much cleaner and healthier than I was.  So I re-evaluated my own diet and just started always prepping our meals together so we'd be eating the same things.  I also made sure to move more during the day, which was hard to do as a working Mom.  Anyway, I lost all but 2 of those extra pounds when I found out I was pregnant with #2.  Good luck!
