White Noise Machine for Toddler?

Anyone start using one of these when your LO was a toddler instead of an infant? DD is such a light sleeper.  Anything wakes her from her nap & even though she sleeps soundly early in the night, I can't even wake up in the morning without waking her up. I try to be as quite as I can but feel like my time is being wasted sitting around.

If you did start as a toddler will you share your experience with me & if it worked which sound machine you have. TIA

Yes.  Curly sleeps with one at every nap and at bedtime.  It definitely helps him sleep more soundly.  I would just go get any white noise machine at Bed Bath and Beyond.  They are all about the same.

Might be a silly question but what kind of noise does the one from bed & bath play?  DD right now uses a small fan that I got at BRU but I don't think its drowning out outside noise (we live near a small airport) and I need to find a machine that makes fan like sounds.

I started using  a white noise machine for DS when he was 18 months old. That is when DD was born and DS is a light sleeper. I really works great for him. He doesn't hear her at all at night and he sleeps even better with his naps...at least 2 hours now instead of 1 hour.

 I will eventually buy the same one for DD. GL.

When DD is sick we always put in the cool mist humidifier on high but it's so stinking loud but even after she has felt better we have left it in there on high. It's not going to hurt to have the air moist

 DD is a pretty heavy sleeper though and could sleep with out it too. I on the other hand am THE lightest sleeper in the world and I either use a fan or I bought a white noise machine from Target.com. It was $50 but so worth it!

We have this same one.  Two actually, one in LO's room & one in our room.  Worth the money

My DS sleeps with one at home during naps and at night time.  He does not sleep with one at the home daycare he goes to or when he spends the night at my mother in law's house.  So -really that would be evidence that he doesn't need it.  I think it's just habit for me and because my husband and I prefer to sleep with one in our own room.  Our "machine" is just a small space/box fan.

I second the suggestions for a fan or humidifier.

We just started using a white noise machine that we got at Babies R Us. DS is sleeping right now or I would go look at the brand name. We used a humidifier during the winter, but didn't want it to become too humid now that the air is a little less dry. So far we are liking the results.

Curly loved the spinning pictures on this one, but for some reason it's stopped spinning.  I haven't taken the time to figure out why, but the noise is still working great.
