she has loved baths ever since birth, and the last week has been screaming, scared, and refused to get in the bath. cannot figure out why? is this a phase? any advice??
We didn't go through that except when NOT at home. Does she have toys she likes in the tub? Could you introduce something like tub crayons? Introduce them outside the tub, show her what they do, then explain that they are in-the-tub toys. Give her a choice about getting in if you can. My DD isn't really verbal yet but if she couldn't play with them without getting in we might get somewhere :-) Give her some space, enticement, for a few days (2-3). She'll live without a bath those couple days.
Sorry. I have no advice. We have the opposite problem. We only do a bath 2x/wk because of DD's eczema. She loves it so much that when we walk by the bathroom on the way to get her ready for bed on non-bath nights she pitches a full on temper tantrum.
We went through the same thing a few months ago. It just started out of nowhere, and fortunately it went away as quickly as it came. It took a few weeks, but eventually he started loving the tub again. During the time he screamed, we just had to make bathtime as quick as possible and wash him down real fast, or else he'd shower with DH or myself.
