At the beginning of the pregnancy I decided to go for the VBAC,but I have changed my mind.Last week when I went to my appt,my doc could barely stick one finger in my cervix. My doc told me that he likes to schedule c-sections between 38 and 39 weeks if I wanted to change my mind.I think I have changed my mind.I dont want to go through all those hours of labor and not progress. So now I'm trying to decide on the date I should schedule the c-section.I thought a friday would be good so my other boys wouldnt have to be in school for the rest of the week...Would it be terrible to have my baby on April 1st??(april fool's day)Im 38 weeks and 3 days today
Re: WHAT TO DO???
This. TONS of people aren't dilated even a little before they go into labor, and progress just fine.
I'm going for a VBAC, a don't get me wrong, the choice is all yours, but I don't think I would change my mind for this reason.

I'm a little confused as to what the question really is.
If you're asking for opinions on whether to do the c-sections or teh VBAC, I agree with PP's that even though you've had no progress as of yet, that means nothing. You can go from 0-10 quickly after your water breaks from what I understand. So don't let your closed cervix sway your mind one way or teh other. Ultimately, this is a decision you and only you can make.
As for being induced/having a c-section on April 1st - I think that's a fantastic birthday! 4/1/11!! I don't know what everyone thinks is such a big deal about having an April Fool's day baby - it's just another holiday but it being your LO's birthday is what will make it special. Kids tease each other for everything and if thats all your LO will be teased about consider yourself lucky. Think of how much fun you can have when LO is older using it as a theme for his/her birthday. IDK, I see nothing wrong with that date.
