Duplicating a bit from a previous post, but my usually peaceful and easy-to-put-down DS is turning into a little bedtime terror. He screams at the mention of bedtime, although he used to love the snuggle and book time. He screams all the way up the stairs and throughout the bedtime routine, and for the last few weeks, has ended up crying himself to sleep (as he's doing right now). He's 20 months.
Anyone else have issues around this age? TIA!
Re: Dreaded Bedtime
Could be the separation thing but I think part of it could be the whole developing their sense of self & autonomy (right along with 'mine' and 'no')... my DD now tries to stall at bedtime at 19 months, asking for book after book after book & when we refuse to read any more (we seriously read her like 15 of them at least) then she asks for water over & over, ends up just playing with the straw in her mouth, etc...so I think she is trying to 'control' the bedtime so to speak... I try to humor her a little bit & usually she calms down if I give her a book or 2 and then the water a few times...
GL!
