AHHHHHH!!!!!!

I have a one year old, only child, only grandchild, only great grandchild on both sides of both families.

His father and I know what we want for our child and how we want to raise him.

But whenever we visit my mother she ALWAYS HAS SOMETHING TO SAY! and i've had this conversation with her a million times! She tries to tell me what to do, what to say, what to feed him, when to put him to sleep, what to dress him in, what books to read him! I CANNOT take it! He is my son, I dont need or want her opinion. Somehow I survived the first year of his life without broken bones or bruises and she has four kids born twenty years ago. Things are different now!

Anyone else? Otherwise I just needed to vent!

and it's worst when DD is sick. Lately I avoid her when DD is sick, she's too anxious to be around.

Sorry mom, but my mental health and DD's anxiety has first priority!!

Yes.  And depending on the things my MIL or mom just do not understand that I don't want to do things their way.  But I stand my ground and do what I think is right.  They hate that, but as her mom I really know what is best- not them.

OH Jeez!  ME!

I was just telling my mum today that it's easy to give DD medicine.  She takes it off the spoon and goes "MMMM" and licks her lips every time.  We call it "num-nums".  My mum's response  "You have to tell her it's medicine.  She can't think it's candy".  M'kay... so 1) She knows it's medicine  and 2) she doesn't know what the eff candy is.  

That's just the tip of the iceberg.  

You know... I have been raising a child for over 12 years.  But apparently I've forgotten how to take care of a baby.
