Like the same name as friends' lo...

Okay, so I really like the name William Preston. I have one close friend that I grew up with (they live 3 hours away) and her son's name is William Samuel and they call him Liam (named after his dad and uncle). I have a friend who lives nearby and they have a son named William and call him Wil (named after his dad). My uncle who passed away in 1992 name was William and we called him Billy. William also runs on my dh's side also.Would you consider naming him the same name or would you just come up with something else? We would probably call him William or Billy.We also really like Alexander Preston as well. UGH! Naming a boy is soo hard!

William is such a classic, ubiquitous name that I see no problem in using it, especially since the nn options aren't the same as your friends are using (but even then I would probably still use it).  The family connection for you is a trump, also.

I would still use it- maybe you could call him Will.. seems to be a popular choice,,, I actually like it better than liam..

I'm not a fan of naming babies after people so I'd roll w/ Alexander Preston. Way too many Williams in ur life already.
