It took a month to get in to see him, but I finally did. We talked about Femara + injectables, and the risks involved. He doesn't see the need for any b/w or u/s before CD11/12 when doing Femara + injects, but he refuses to do injectables alone without plenty of monitoring... He feels that when you start injects so late in your cycle (CD7), as I will, you run a much smaller risk of over-stimulating.
I made it clear that it is very important to me to see how I'm responding to the meds, and that I want to be monitored on CD3, then three to four days after starting injects, then as needed until trigger. He said (again) that if I want it, he'll do it, no problem. Then he made a big note in my chart, with stars
, that I'm to have whatever monitoring I ask for. He did that because I told him his staff was giving me a really hard time and wouldn't schedule monitoring appts that didn't fit with his normal protocol.
Thank you for pushing me to ask for more monitoring -- I was not comfortable with his protocol and now I feel much better.
