I am still in the brainstorming phase as I don't know the gender of my baby just yet. I have a fondness for names that lend to sweet nicknames. I am not talking about Andrew for Andy. I mean that my SIL is Victoria and her father calls her "Vu". Its not the sole determining factor for names making my list, but I definitely weigh the option of a name considering the pet names that I might use. On example is the name Charlotte and "Leta" or "Lotty". My father called me "Amilie" often rather than Amy.
Am I totally alone on this? Is it weird to think about?
Re: Names for nicknames
I think cutesy NNs come after you "meet" your child? My DD has a bunch of NNs but none of them have anything to do with her FN. I know too many Kates/Katies already and she's 3 so Kathy seems too old for her.
I'd not be obsessing over it in this stage. Find a name that the child can grow with, since at some point they'll be an adult.
