My husband and I both love the name Kendall for our daughter.  It's on our top 3 list.  A co-worker of mine asked me today what names we were considering.  I told her Kendall and she immediately told me not to name my daughter that.  She said its a boys name.  I have never heard of it as a boys name before and I've actually only heard it once before for a girl.

My question to you is, what do you?  Girl's name or boy's?

This won't change my opinion of the name since I do love it, I am just curious about what other people think about it.

I've only heard of it for girls, like Kendall on All My Children and on Veronica Mars. I don't think I've ever heard it IRL.

I've heard it on both, actually. I know a little girl Kendyll (hate the spelling) she's 2.5. I also know a man, he's 35ish. I like it better for a girl, but it did start as a boy name, fwiw.

My former boss (a man) was named Kendall, but any recent people I have come across with this name have been girls.  I think it's mostly a girl name these days.

It is originally a boy name, but I think it's used often enough on girls that it's thought of as a girl name. It's NMS, but not bad. I just don't think it's very feminine.

My ILs had a foster daughter named Kendall who was absolutely adorable and had a very big soft spot in all our hearts. I definately think its a girls name..and a beautiful one at that!

Thanks for the feedback!  I appreciate it.  We do love the name and it will stay on our list, I just want to cover all angles to avoid any potential teasing for our little girl.

It's the name of a Square in Cambridge.  Good restaurants.  But I hate it as a name for a boy or girl.

I have heard it more often used as a male name. I know of one girl named Kendall, and i think its is strange, but probably because it is a male name to me. Also, it sounds like Ken Doll, which is a male doll. Kendra is much prettier to me.

It's originally a surname. I've seen it more on girls than boys but I really don't like it in general. Sorry.

I know two female Kendall's. I think of it as a girl name, but it definitely isn't the most feminine name I have heard.

I knew a boy Kendall growing up who got teased with this! So I am ok with it as a girls name but not a boys even though that's what it originally is.

I know a boy named Kendall, and a Girl named Kendell (spelled those ways). I think I like it better for a girl though, but could go either way.

I've only heard it for a girl as well.  I went to school with a very snotty girl named Kendall and my hair stylist has a 9 month old named Kendall.

A very good male friend of mine is Kendall (in his 30's) so I associate it with a male name. I have met a Kendall (female) in her 20's. I am not  sure of the origin of this name, but I tend to think of it as a boys name that is being used by girls these days (as many are).

I have a friend (who is a nestie/bumpie) that is named Kendall.  I think she had a hard time with it growing up, but it is more common now.

I love it, although not great nn choices, Ken?

I work with a guy named Kendall. I do think it's become pretty gender neutral, though.

Kendall is all girl to me.  I've never met a boy named Kendall and can't imagine one because it sounds feminine, IMO.

At this point, I'd say it's pretty much gone unisex, though the only Kendall I've ever encountered in person was male(little boy in my sister's preschool class, years and years ago--she was quite smitten with his "orange" hair and named a goldfish after him).

This is how I feel as well.  I think it's now definitely unisex.  But I liked it better for a male before it got so popular to use for females.
