Help me pick a name PLEASE !!

Copied from BabyNames board but need more opinions Smile

DH and I are having a hard time deciding on name for DS #2, we know his middle name will be Chad and you can tell by my screen name that our LN is Morley.

We are stuck, cannot agree on anything, and I am so worried this baby will not be named until they make us write something on the birth certificate.

So please please please help by suggesting names you think flow well with MN & LN and could go along with DS #1 name Jaxson.

THANK YOU ladies !!

Re: Help me pick a name PLEASE !!

  • I don't really have a style I just want something that will go with MN & LN and sound descent with DS #1 name.

  • Well, not everyone will agree about this, but I get really stuck on how well a name flows. To me, it needs to have a certain syllable structure (picky I know, can you tell I'm a linguistics major? :D )

A PP suggested Benjamin, and I like the way that flows better than the 2-syllable names when combined with Chad. Benjamin Chad Morley. I like it. Some other names (with varying styles) are:

Domenic Chad, Elliott Chad, Emerson Chad, Jonathan Chad, Joshua Chad, Jeremy Chad, Nicholas Chad, Oliver Chad, Thaddeus Chad.

I like the sounds of Jeremy, Oliver and Thaddeus myself.

Also, and again this is just personal preference, but I'm not a big fan of rhyming, so I would personally avoid a name that ended in the 'in' sound, given your first son's name. Jaxson and Emerson doesn't really go to me, but it doesn't bother everyone. My sister named her sons Preston and Ayden, which I'm not judging her for, but I decided to stay away from the 'in' names that I liked for my first, and opted for Elijah instead.

    Hope this helps!

While most of your suggestions are great, I couldn't help but LOL at Thaddeus Chad.  Thad Chad Morley?  He'd grow up to be a WWE wrestler for sure!! :P

  • What about Braxton Chad Morley.

Then you would have both children with X in their name. Plus if you say that name really fast and loud it sounds good. You have to make sure you can raise your voice and say the name.

HAHAHAHA I never noticed that!! You're right, Thad Chad Morley is out, even if Thaddeus is a cool name. I could overlook the rhyme in that case, but the nickname never occurred to me, that's awesome.
