Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

What do you feed a teething toddler?

DD is teething and is in a lot of pain, so she doesn't want to eat. I feel like I have offered her everything and the only thing she would eat yesterday is applesauce, and this morning she finally ate some peaches. Any suggestions would be great!

  • Yogurt, applesauce, avocado... anything soft. DD loves frozen mangos when she's teething too, somehow they're still a bit soft while frozen, but she loves the cold. GL!

  • At those points, anything we can get him to eat. Anything soft and cold-fruit is generally all DS will eat at those times. We also end up doing a lot of popsicles as well.

One day, we were so desperate for him to eat some calories that I dipped his grilled cheese in a little bit of ice cream to make it cold and enticing for him to eat.

  • Does she like smoothies? Those are nice and cold, which would probably feel good in her mouth plus they can fill you up. Otherwise, you could give her yogurt. DS loves frozen raspberries broken up, which the frozen fruit would probably feel good on her gums also.

  • When teething my DS loves bananas, applesauce, yogurt, pasta, and frozen fruit bars.  I'm looking forward to hearing all of the responses, we have a hard time with this too.
