not sure what this is, teething? help??

or really how to describe it. My son has been slamming his mouth open and shut for the last 2 days, it's like gnawing or chomping. The only thing i can figure is that maybe it has something to do with teething since it just started. when he does it , he does it many times in a row. it's awful to listen to, it doesn't seem to hurt him but there must be a reason behind it. Any help or suggestions would be great

DS chewed on nothing when he got his first molars. Is he drooling some? It sounds like teething to me.

he really isn't drooling all that much and he normally is a big drooler. While he got his bottom molars ages ago, the top ones only came out partway, so i'm thinking that maybe they will finally make their way out now. However whenever LO is teething, he drools tons, has loose poohs, rubs his face...mind you when he got the bottom molars, he just cried and didn't have any of the other symptoms. I am at a loss.

DS has been doing this, too.  It almost soundslike he is grinding his teeth.  He is also drooling.  I am assuming it is teething.  Good luck!

He may just be doing it because it's new and because he can. My Ds does random things just b/c he can.
