missing my lo's a lot tonight

I just want them home so bad. And right now I am so tempted to climb in the car and head back to be with them. I feel like I never get to hold them for long enough and I want so bad to hold them both on my arms together.

I know I need my rest too, but I just want to be with them. Sometimes it feels like they aren't really mine yet, like they belong to the hospital. And to add to all if this Addison keeps loosing weight rather then gaining so I am concerned about that too.

Thanks for listening yet again. I dont know anyone IRL who can even begin to understand my feelings and what I am going thru.

I'm so sorry you are feeling this way tonight. Big hugs to you! You are a good mommy and how you are feeling is perfectly normal. I hope you can get some rest and have a good day with your babies tomorrow.

I'm sorry and I know very well how you feel!

It's very hard sometimes to focus on the end of the road but keep that in sight and the day your babies come home isn't really that far off.  Hang in there.

I know it doesn't seem like it now, but this is such a small little blip in the lifetime you'll have with your LOs. Keep thinking positive and looking forward.

You're right, you need your rest. And your LOs need their rest too. And I know that you're making the best of every moment you have with them while you're there, and there's not a lot more you can do other than that.

Good thoughts for Addison- I hope that everything keeps moving forward and that soon enough you'll be holding both those babies. It will be such a special moment, and just another amazing mommy moment you have to look forward to.

There were nights I showed up at midnight or 3am, just to see them and give them a kiss. We had wonderful night nurses who were just so understanding. It is so hard to be away from them and to feel like a "part time parent.' You don't even feel like they are yours yet. But they will - trust me when I say when they get home you will love every sleepless night, every cry, every whimper because its YOU that gets to soothe them. Hope today is wonderful and Addison starts to pork it on

I know how you feel. I *know* I am a mom... but I just don't feel like one. I feel like he belongs to the hospital and the nurses are his "moms". Especially now that I am back and work and only really get to see him/hold him for an hour during the work week. It's terrible... but it's temporary. This isn't really advice... but just letting you know that your feelings are validated and you aren't alone. 

 

I hope Addison is having a better day and you get to spend a lot of time with them today. Try to remember that they will eventually come home and that they are in a place that they need to be for now. My LO was born at 28w 4d and he is now 34w 5d and there is still a long road ahead... but he should still be in the womb! I get 3 extra months with my LO that other people don't get. Try to think of it that way too!

Someday there will come a time where you'll barely remember what it was like to NOT have them home with you. But I know exactly how you feel. I swear, I didn't really feel like a mom until Charlie and Lily were home and I was taking care of them. It's such a tough situation all around.
