  • Haha! Tegan has recently started doing this and I quickly realized that telling her "no" only makes her more likely to pick it, lol! I've started keeping some Kleenex in her diaper bag and now, whenever I see her picking her nose, I give her a Kleenex and let her wipe her nose. She likes using the Kleenex and it typically distracts her from the picking.

  • Really?? Dom doesn't even touch his nose, let alone pick it, and processed to eat what comes out LOL

  • Ophelia doesn't eat it but she went through a phase of always seeming to have her finger up her nose.  Thinking about it now I think that phase has passed.

  • My DS has his finger in his nose ALOT, but I never thought he was actually picking it.  I just assumed he liked to feel it - it is a hole that is unlike anything else on his body and I think it intrigues him.

He also loves to smell EVERYTHING.  Today he was smelling his toast...repeatedly.  What a silly monkey!

  • My daughter went through that phase.  I stopped telling her no because then she would giggle and do it more.  If I ignored it or gave her a tissue she would usually stop.  She doesn't eat it any more, now if she picks it or wipes it with her hand she comes to me yelling "eewwwww" lol.
  • My DD does put her finger up her nose a lot, but I don't think she's picking it. She just finds it interesting.

  • I've only caught my DS doing this once. He was watching daddy walk into the kitchen and sneakily sticks his finger up his nose. He checks again to make sure daddy wasn't looking and pops his little finger in his mouth. It was only once he had his finger in his mouth that he looked to the other side and saw me, and quickly removed his finger and buried his face in his blanket. I couldn't get onto him, and I couldn't let him see me laugh, so I turned the corner and just cracked up to myself. He hasn't done it since. Lol.
