Baby Names

Share unique girl names you have heard...

I'm still looking for the "one" name.  I figured I would share some unique names I know of and hope that others share some back that I may have not heard of before.

1. Shylea

2. Jacinda

3. Eleni (although in Greece, very popular)

4. Alanna

5. Adora

6. Avisha

  • I heart Eleni. It means light, right? That's been on my list since college but DH nixed it. He said it sounded like Elaine and made him think of Julia Louis-Dreyfus's full body dry heave dance. Nice. Please use it so I can live vicariously through your ticker!

I don't think this is unique at all. I actually think it's really common.

  • I met a girl from Ireland named Mairead (pronounced Mer-AID). I've always thought that was a pretty name. Apparently fairly common in Ireland but you hardly ever hear it here.

  • I don't know very many unique names personally (as in ones my friends have actually used). But seeing #2 on your list made me think of a few.

I have one friend who named their daughters: Deja, Jacynda, Nya

Another friend has Piper on her short list.
